Turning the Pages: Rabbi Isador Signer at TBB, 100 Years Later
Thursday, May 22, 2025 • 24 Iyyar 5785
7:30 PM - 9:00 PMNissenbaum HallRegistration required - tickets available below!
Isador Signer was the rabbi at Temple B'nai Brith from 1924–1926 and presided over the synagogue's silver anniversary. A hundred years after his tenure at TBB, his granddaughter Aliza Arzt, a long-time resident of Somerville, has published a book which includes 24 of his sermons—including some preached at TBB—with a response to each of them from someone in the present. The responses are addressed to him, hence the name of the book: Turning the Pages: Conversations through Time with Rabbi Isador Signer.
Please join us for an informative presentation about Rabbi Signer's career, his Somerville connections, his sometimes surprisingly contemporary beliefs and messages, and, above all, what he has to say to us today through his sermons.
Refreshments will be served. Books will be available for purchase as well.
