Tikkun Leil Shavuot

Sunday, June 1, 2025 5 Sivan 5785

5:00 PM - 9:45 PMTemple B'nai Brith

Join us as we return to hosting an in-person Tikkun Leil Shavuot with learning, dinner, singing, dessert, and more!

What is a Tikkun Leil Shavuot?

A Tikkun Leyl Shavuot is the tradition of staying up all night (or in the case of TBB, later than usual) learning in anticipation of receiving the Torah on the morning of Shavuot. According to a midrash, the Israelites slept late on the morning when the Ten Commandments were given, instead of waking up early in anticipation, and now we stay up studying to be sure not to repeat that mistake. After a few years hiatus, we are excited to bring this tradition back to TBB.
