Friday, June 13 is Pride Shabbat here at TBB. We’ll be having a special Kabbalat Shabbat service to celebrate Pride, along with our monthly potluck.
This event will take place in Nissenbaum Hall, which on our first floor. It is six steps up from street level via our front entrance.
Share Your Story
This year, we’d like to hear from you for the d’var Torah. We invite you to submit a short story, poem, or piece of artwork that you can read or show during our Kabbalat Shabbat service on June 13. Our goal is to collect your stories and experiences, in the hopes of eventually creating a Haggadah for a Pride Seder (similar to this one) for next year.
Can’t make it to services? You can select someone else to read your story for you.
Guidelines for submitting stories or artwork:
- Stories should be no more than 3-4 minutes long
- Stories should have a beginning, middle and end, and be engaging
- It can be about anything LGBTQ+ related and should be about you or someone you know
- If you’re submitting artwork, we can display it during the potluck
- Everyone, including allies, is welcome to submit a story, poem or artwork
- If you'd like help or ideas with crafting a story, reach out to Laurie
Please submit stories by Friday, June 6 to gabitoth1979@gmail.com AND wolfe.laurie@gmail.com
If your story was not selected because we (hopefully) got too many, we will notify you by June 8. But don’t worry, there will be time to share your story informally during the potluck.
